If you’ve spent any time in the last several years looking up local restaurants on the internet, you’re very familiar with the power of a well-placed Yelp review. Now, those intrepid amateur food critics are going to get an even bigger profile courtesy of the Food Network, which just greenlit a reality series called 12 Hungry Yelpers.
Not much in the way of details are available about 12 Hungry Yelpers, except that the basic premise will feature restaurants using the website and its reviewers to diagnose and correct its most important issues in food preparation and service. There’s also a report that the show will be hosted by Monti Carlo, former MasterChef finalist.
For now, you can read up on 12 Hungry Yelpers (which, it should be noted, is a tentative title) at Eater right here, and if you haven’t been reviewing restaurants on Yelp, now might be a good time to start if you want to catch your big break.
