Frozen Treats Forever Stamps: USPS Scratch-and-Sniff Stamps
Summer is here, and the time is right for ice cream in the streets. But in case the ice cream truck isn’t around, you’ll soon be able to catch a whiff of your favorite ice cream truck delicacies on the back of a postcard, thanks to a new line of scratch-and-sniff stamps from the United States Postal Service called Frozen Treats Forever stamps.
The “forever” in Frozen Treats Forever stamps sounds cool (so to speak) but it also designates the stamps as Forever stamps, which means unlike ice cream they will be good forever. Scents include chocolate, kiwi, watermelon, root beer, blueberry, and cola, and hilariously, the USPS took it upon itself to explain what frozen treats are in the press release from the stamps:
“Ice pops are made by large manufacturers, home cooks and artisanal shops. In recent years, frozen treats containing fresh fruit such as kiwi, watermelon, blueberries, oranges and strawberries have become more common. In addition, flavors such as chocolate, root beer and cola are also popular. Some frozen treats even have two sticks, making them perfect for sharing.”
The USPS Frozen Treats Forever stamps will be unveiled on June 20th, at the Thinkery children’s museum in Austin, Texas. Get more information from that press release right here.
