‘Sorry to Bother You’: The Coup’s Boots Riley’s Feature Directorial Debut (Trailer)
Fans of revolutionary Oakland rap band The Coup have been aware of rumblings about a movie version of Sorry to Bother You, the band’s underrated 2012 album, for a while now. It appears that it’s finally coming out, and the continuing adventures of Cassius Green in corporate America have taken a couple of extremely bizarre turns, if the recently released trailer is any indication. Here’s the official plot synopsis:
“In an alternate present-day version of Oakland, telemarketer Cassius Green discovers a magical key to professional success, propelling him into a macabre universe.”
If you want to see exactly what that magical key is, and how it involves David Cross, take a look at the trailer for Sorry to Bother You below. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters this summer, on July 6th, 2018, and for more in advance of that you can stay tuned to the Annapurna Channel on YouTube right here.
