‘Fahrenheit 451’: HBO Film Adaptation Gets Trailer (Video)
If you went to high school in the United States, there is an extremely good chance that you’re familiar with author Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. But despite its near universal recognition in the US it’s proven a somewhat difficult and tricky story to adapt to the screen. Francois Truffaut tried it in the 60s but since then numerous filmmakers have tried and failed to turn it into a big Hollywood blockbuster. Now it’s finally happening, kind of, not on the big screen but on HBO.
The HBO version of Fahrenheit 451 stars Michaels B. Jordan and Shannon, both of whom are coming off of really big movies released in the last few months: Black Panther and The Shape of Water. In case you slept through the relevant part of sophomore English, here’s a quick synopsis of what it’s all about:
“In a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and “firemen” burn books, Jordan plays Guy Montag, a young fireman who struggles with his role as law enforcer and with his ‘mentor’, played by Shannon.”
You can check out a new trailer for Fahrenheit 451: The Movie below, and the film itself comes to HBO sometime in May.
