‘The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – The Complete Recordings’ Gets First Ever Vinyl Release

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - The Complete Recordings

In 2005, fans who wished to soundtrack their domestic lives with the same music that accompanied Frodo’s trek to Mordor were granted the opportunity with a collection of CD box sets of Howard Shore’s scores for the Lord of the Rings movies. Vinyl enthusiasts – which remember, were not as numerous back then – were left in the cold. Now, belatedly, the three films’s soundtracks are getting deluxe vinyl reissues courtesy of Rhino Records, and first up, naturally, is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – The Complete Recordings.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – The Complete Recordings features the recordings in question spread across five red vinyl LPs, and boasts extensive liner notes by Doug Adams. The earlier CD box set is getting a special “reactivation” as well, and of course box sets for the other two movies will soon follow.

For now, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – The Complete Recordings comes out April 6th, as per its Amazon pre-order listing right here.
