“Too Many Stories”: A Lost Superman Story to be Published
Kal-El of Krypton has been on Earth for almost 80 years, an occasion which happens to coincide with the upcoming thousandth issue of Supes’ original Action Comics home. To celebrate, DC Comics is releasing Action Comics #1000: 80 Years of Superman in a few months, a deluxe anthology that will include a lost Superman tale by Superman’s creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster called “Too Many Stories.” Here’s the book’s editor Paul Levitz on the story:
“Back when DC did regular tours of the New York office, it was common for fans to get original art that would have been otherwise disposed of as a tour souvenir. As a young fan on a tour [New Teen Titans co-creator and veteran creator] Marv Wolfman found this Superman story and kept it all these years. It’s incredible to think that Marv not only rescued this unpublished story, he then went on to become one of DC’s most prolific writers, and shared the story with DC to publish as part of this special new collection.”
Action Comics #1000: 80 Years of Superman, including “Too Many Stories,” will reportedly be a handsome 384-page volume of mostly new stories from important storytellers from Superman’s history. The book comes out on April 19th.
