Mixed Reality: A Virtual Reality Room by THÉORIZ (Video)
It’s 2017 and virtual reality technology agonizingly still requires clunky headgear to work – weren’t we supposed to have operational holodecks by now? Thankfully, the people at THÉORIZ have brought us one step closer to that hopeful future, with a project they have named Mixed Reality.
The Mixed Reality project uses a multitude of technologies – “audiovisual production, using in house tracking system (Augmenta) and Vive VR tracking technologies with real time video and projection mapping in space” – to create a reality-warping quasi-VR room. They’re still testing out the technology, but they recently released a test video that might just blow your mind.
You can take a look at Mixed Reality in action in the video below. If you’re looking for some suggested musical accompaniment, Yukihiro Takahashi pairs with it quite well, although I imagine lots of music would. And for more, head over to the official THÉORIZ site right here.
