Xbox One X

For a while now, Microsoft‘s upcoming new Xbox console went under the working title “Project Scorpio.” A name like that is a little too sexy for something middle Americans are supposed to put in their homes, and now the release title for the console has been made public: It’s the Xbox One X.

Pedants might be confused by the “X” in “Xbox One X,” since it makes it sound like it’s the tenth Xbox One – which it isn’t. But anyway, Microsoft has also set a release date for the system, which will see its worldwide launch on November 7th, 2017. It will support 4K ultra-HD games and movies, and will launch with a robust slate of 42 titles, 22 of them exclusive.

The Xbox One X also has a price tag of $499. It’s not available for pre-order yet, but keep an eye on the console’s official site here for more details, and to sign up to be notified when it is.
