YouTube TV: YouTube Rolls Out Support for Live TV (Video)
I haven’t had cable for a few years, and one of the things I miss the most is being able to watch live TV. Livestreams online just don’t have the same excitement as good old-fashioned live television programming. Which might be one reason YouTube is getting into the live TV business with a new subscription service they call YouTube TV.
For $35 a month (which is actually roughly comparable to how much cable packages cost these days with multi-service bundling), YouTube TV users can stream live programming from more than 50 channels. Right now, the service is in some kind of limited-marked test phase, and it’s currently restricted to viewers in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Philadelphia—but wider availability is planned for the near future.
For now, you can acquaint yourself with YouTube TV by watching the video below, and for more information check out the service’s official site right here.
