Space Jam: Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture

It’s been more than 20 years since Space Jam infected our shared culture, and the fever has still not broken. In fact, we may be seeing a new, even more dangerous strain of infection, since evidently Space Jam: Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture is cool enough to be granted a two-disc vinyl reissue for Record Store Day this year.

Space Jam: Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture includes tracks from artists like—wait, seriously?—Jay Z, R. Kelly, Seal, Salt-N-Pepa, D’Angelo, B-Real, Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J, and Method Man, which makes it significantly less embarrassing than the movie it was designed to promote, as far as I’m concerned, even without that cover of “Basketball Jones” with Chris Rock and Barry White.

Record Store Day is April 22nd, so if you’re looking to score the Space Jam: Music From and Inspired By The Motion Picture soundtrack album you’ll have to do so then. In the meantime, read up on the reissue right here.
