TRAPPIST-1: NASA Announces Discovery of Earth-Like Planetary System (Video)

A few days ago NASA announced that they would be holding a press conference on Wednesday afternoon regarding an exciting new discovery. Everyone assumed it would be one of two things: Alien life or a giant meteor. Luckily, the system of planets surrounding “the ultra-cool dwarf star called TRAPPIST-1” would appear to be closer to the former category than the latter, speaking potentially, of course.

The announcement had to do with an exoplanetary system of seven Earth-sized planets surrounding TRAPPIST-1, but here’s the exciting part: Three of those planets are described by NASA as being “firmly in the habitable zone.” What does that mean? Well, I better let NASA explain that, since they have a slightly firmer grasp on the topic than I have:
