McDonald's STRAW

New from McDonald’s is a product that will change the world of oral vacuum liquid delivery devices forever. It’s the McDonald’s STRAW, short for Suction Tube for Reverse Axial Withdrawal, and it’s engineered specifically to facilitate optimum enjoyment of the restaurant’s upcoming Chocolate Shamrock Shake.

Those in the know have long been aware of the Chocolate Shamrock Shake as a part of Mickey D’s fabled secret menu, and now the dessert, made from 50 percent chocolate and 50 percent mint shakes, is becoming an official part of the McDonald’s lineup. Joining it in a limited edition capacity is the McDonald’s STRAW, a J-shaped contraption developed by JACE Engineering and NK Labs and outfitted with dual intake valves so the user can enjoy both halves of the Chocolate Shamrock Shake in the same gulp.

To be honest, I have no idea how seriously to take the McDonald’s STRAW or any of its purported technological benefits, but you can read up on the project at McDonald’s official press release for it here, where you can also find a list of participating McDonald’s locations.
