The Magic iPod

Everyone knows that the early 2000s was a golden age for popular music. A new website lets you mash up the hits from that glorious era just like Girl Talk does, but without any of the technical expertise those mashups usually require. It’s called The Magic iPod.

Also like Girl Talk, The Magic iPod specializes in rap vocals laid over rock instrumentals—two great tastes that, sometimes anyway, taste great together. Artists in the former category include Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, Eminem, Jay Z, and more, while the rock side is represented by The White Stripes, Weezer Fall Out Boy, etc…you get the idea. Instead of a mixing board, you just drag the rap of your choice to the available rock song, and enjoy the fruits of your quasi-creativity.

You’re probably eager to get started, so I’ll leave you to The Magic iPod right here. But be careful: You might be looking at an entire afternoon down the drain if you get too addicted.
