‘House of Cards’ Drops Inauguration Day Teaser (Video)
One of the many, many challenges of the Trump presidency is going to be dramatists’ and storytellers’ ability to keep up, and ideally surpass, the insane stuff that will be happening inside the American government in real life. The popular Netflix original series House of Cards appears to be at least trying to keep up with current affairs, judging by the very brief release date teaser that was dropped for the show during Trump’s inauguration.
The House of Cards teaser joins voiceover of a classroom of children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance with a striking image of the American flag upside down—a universal signal for distress. It doesn’t explicitly mention Trump, of course, since he may not even exist in the House of Cards universe, but he’ll probably take it as an insult if he sees it anyway.
As promised, the new House of Cards teaser below also has info on the fifth season of the show’s release date on Netflix, which I’ll go ahead and spoil: May 30th, 2017.
