Strike: “The World’s First Smart Baseball”

by: Joseph On  Tuesday, December 13, 2016

It’s somehow comfortable to know that America’s pastime is still able to get a little smarter, even these days. That’s the promise of Strike, billed by its makers as the first smart baseball in the world and loaded with technological features that will help you improve your ballgame.

Strike “can detect and display the speed, spin rate and pitching trajectory of each throw of the ball,” giving you the data you need to improve, or perhaps just to settle bets between friends, all in conjunction with its designated smartphone app. And if you’ve got a radar gun sitting in a garage somewhere, you might want to sell it on Craigslist.

You can get more information on the Strike smart baseball and what it can do at the project’s listing on Kickstarter right here, where pre-orders start at $99 and go up from there. Deliveries are estimated to begin in June of 2017.
