Grand Mac and Mac Jr

The McDonald‘s Big Mac is one of the most famous, iconic, and idiosyncratic fast food sandwiches ever created, and now McDonald’s has announced two upcoming size variants that are unfortunately not called the Little Mac and the Bigger Mac. Instead, they are the Mac Jr. and the Grand Mac, which is probably the one that will be of the most interest to consumers.

The Mac Jr. is a smaller sandwich with a single beef patty among the usual combo special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun, while the Grand Mac subs the Big Mac’s patties for larger ones, totaling a third of a pound of meat. And of course, the Big Mac will continue to be available to purists and health nuts too squeamish to try the Grand Mac.

The Grand Mac and the Mac Jr. are reportedly coming to a Mickey D’s near you sometime next year, provided you are in the United States. And if anyone from the McDonald’s marketing department is reading this: It’s still not too late to change the names to Little Mac and Bigger Mac.
