Look Inside

The newest unexpectedly entertaining coffee table book from Gestalten is all about the inside of objects we don’t normally get to see (or even think about) the insides of. It’s called Look Inside: Cutaway Illustrations and Visual Storytelling, edited and curated by Samuel and Juan Volasco. Think of it as the adult version of that DK Incredible Cross-Sections book.

Look Inside features cross-sections of houses, beaver lodges, sports cars, and even the human body, all with a level of detail that’s worthy of a textbook illustration but still pleasant to look at. And at 256 pages, there’s plenty of room for that kind of detail across an eclectic selection of subjects.

A copy of Look Inside: Cutaway Illustrations and Visual Storytelling will set you back exactly $60 at the Gestalten online store right here, where you can also take a look at the publishing house’s other books on a variety of different subjects.
