Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders

It’s been 50 years since the era of what many still consider to be the definitive screen treatment of Batman, the 1966 TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin. It’s also been a whole lot of different Batmen and Robins, but now the (kind of) original Dynamic Duo is back in an animated adventure entitled Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, an exclusive trailer for which is now available from Entertainment Weekly.

Burt Ward, understandably, no longer sounds like the adolescent he could believably play 50 years ago, but Adam West still sounds like Batman, and judging from the trailer for Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, their incarnations of Batman & Robin are still mixing it up like always—a reassuring phenomenon in these troubled times.

You’ve waited 50 years to see Adam and Burt get back into the tights, so you should be able to wait until October 11th, when Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders comes to digital HD, followed by a Blu-ray release in November.
