Défoncé Chocolatier: Cannabis-Infused Chocolate
The systematic hybridization of fast food continues with the latest monstrosity unveiled by the mad geniuses at Burger King. It’s the Whopperito, which is essentially a Whopper that’s been stretched out and rolled up into a rough approximation of the burrito form.
The Whopperito is stuffed with all of the main ingredients of the Whopper: ground beef (cut into strips rather than a round patty), tomatoes, onions, lettuce and pickles—and one substitution, with queso in lieu of mayonnaise. While such a concoction is unlikely to please diehard Tex-Mex purists, it should be good for a curiosity buy or two after it hits the BK menu later this year for a limited time (reportedly between three and four months).
Time will tell if the Whopperito becomes a popular mainstay or an obscure punchline, but we’ll have to wait until Burger King actually rolls it out sometime in the near future.
