‘Skiptrace': Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville Collaborate on Action Comedy (Video)
Believe it or not, Jackie Chan is, as of this writing, 62 years old. At that age, he’s not even close to being able to pull off the wild stunts and fights that defined his career in Hong Kong, but you’re never too old to trade quips in an action comedy in the United States. And so we have Skiptrace, a variation on the Rush Hour formula with Jackass‘ Johnny Knoxville stepping in for Chris Tucker.
Skiptrace also seems to be inspired by 48 Hrs in its plot, which involves Chan as a cop who has to enlist the help of a fugitive played by Knoxville in order to take down a Chinese gang. Action and wisecracks ensue, and you can get a taste of it by watching the newly released trailer for the film.
You can find the trailer for Skiptrace
below. And despite my good-natured ribbing of Chan’s post-prime work, this is actually a Chinese-American co-production that’s coming out in China in just a few days, while a North American release schedule is still to be announced. In the meantime, you can follow the movie on Facebook right here.
Here’s the trailer:
