“Worth the wait”: Nike Releases Spot for Cleveland’s NBA Championship Win (Video)
Last night, the Cleveland Cavaliers won their very first NBA championship after more than 50 years of waiting from the city and its fans. In typical form, Nike is on the spot with a new commercial that might tug your heartstrings even if you’re not a basketball fan. It’s called, naturally, “Worth the wait.”
“Worth the wait” shows Cavs fans speechless and eventually overcome with emotion at their team’s championship win, from groups of friends taking in the game at a bar, to people watching on iPads on the train, to (most intriguingly) a dude surrounded by Cavs merchandise, watching the game completely alone in his solitary shrine to the team. Forget a commercial, I want to watch an entire movie about that guy.
But for now I have to settle for “Worth the wait,” which you can watch for yourself below. And to shop the new Nike Basketball offerings, head to the Nike online store right here.
