Laptop: Packable. Pringles: Packable. Smartphone: Eminently packable. Kayak: Not packable. Unless, of course, we’re talking about the Pakayak, which isn’t some hot new Indian fusion dish, but instead “the ultimate packable kayak” that you can take with you almost anywhere.

The Pakayak is a standard-size craft 14 feet in length, but unlike a normal kayak it breaks into separate three-and-a-half-foot pieces that can fit comfortably inside one another. It’s small enough to carry on your back, and you can fit multiple kayaks into one automobile, so the portability factor is exponentially useful. I suppose you could even carry one on a kayak, although that’s getting into fox/goose/beans logic puzzle territory.

Anyway, the Pakayak costs almost $1700 at its official site here, where you can also get a wealth of info on how it works, what it can do, and the people responsible for its genesis. If the only thing holding you back from being a kayak hero is storage space, this is a sure bet.
