Google Spaces Group Chat App
In the world of online group chats, the service that provides the easiest multimedia sharing tends to dominate. Google is hoping to get in on that action with the new Google Spaces app, which is purportedly seeking to create a new, easier kind of group chat. Here’s the app’s product director Luke Wroblewski on the philosophy that went into its development:
“Sharing things typically involves hopping between apps to copy and paste links. Group conversations often don’t stay on topic, and things get lost in endless threads that you can’t easily get back to when you need them. [With Spaces] You can create a space with just one tap for any topic and invite anyone via messaging, email, a social network, or whatever way you like.”
Google Spaces has an integrated Chrome browser for finding whatever you want to share online without leaving the app, plus integrated Google and YouTube search for pics, video, and more. And even if you don’t want to get the app (available for both Android and iOS devices), you can get started with a Space of your own at the app’s web client right here.
