Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Peggy Guggenheim

Upscale pen brand Montblanc has an edition of writing implements known as the “Patron of Art” collection, and each pen that makes up part of the collection is named for a famous patron of the arts – like, for instance, the Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Peggy Guggenheim pen.

As an art exhibitor in the early part of the 20th century, Peggy Guggenheim was one of the most influential people in her field, giving artists like Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock early successes in both America and Europe. And the Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Peggy Guggenheim is a worthy homage to her legacy, with visual references to her life found throughout the design of the pen – her time in Venice, for example, as in the red stripes that match that city’s famous gondolas’ mooring pillars, or engraved paws meant to evoke her “14 beloved Lhasa Apso dogs.”

There doesn’t appear to be a price listed on the Montblanc Patron of Art Edition Peggy Guggenheim pen at Montblanc’s official site.  But let’s face it, you probably can’t afford it.

You can get some more info on the pen, and the rest of the Patron of Art Editions, at that site right here.
