Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye Available This Month
In the illustrious history of the Jack Daniel’s brand, the label has never offered an aged-to-maturity rye in any form. But that’s already changing with the release of Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye this month.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye is what whiskey and rye buffs call “grain-forward,” with a 70% rye grain bill. It’s billed as being the first new grain recipe of any kind “from Jack Daniel’s in more than 100 years” with a “robust, full-bodied flavor complemented by Jack Daniel’s smooth unmistakable character.”
That kind of marketing, let alone the aging process necessary to produce this kind of fully-matured rye, doesn’t come cheap, and so when Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Rye hits a store shelf near you this month it will carry a price tag of $50 — a lot by Jack Daniel’s standards, but hopefully worth it. Until then, you can check out the official Jack Daniel’s press release on their first matured rye right here.
