La Table: Translucent Beach Tables From Alexander Chapelin (Photos)

Humans have been fascinated by bodies of water for our entire history, and we’ve gotten pretty good at capturing liquid forms in various shapes by artificial means. One cool example comes from Alexander Chapelin, simply called La Table.

Each unique La Table is made from wood, resin, and marble, combined to evoke images of impossibly blue water next to white sand. Chapelin uses multiple layers to produce the effect of deepening blue ocean depths that even in photographs are hard to stop looking at – I can only imagine what the tables must be like in person.
