Dogfish Head Hoo Lawd

There are a lot of beers out there that claim to be among the hoppiest ever brewed. But Dogfish Head is claiming to have achieved this title and to be able to back it up scientifically, which is more than most claimants to the title are able to do. Their Dogfish Head Hoo Lawd is purported to clock in at 658 International Bittering Units, the most ever verifiably measured.

Dogfish Head Hoo Lawd is well beyond the usual pale for IBUs, and is according to two independent labs the “hoppiest commercial beer ever brewed.” As such, it’s not exactly fit for mass consumption, but it may be available to the public at some point.

Until then, you’ll have to get some more information on upcoming tastings of Dogfish Head Hoo Lawd at the brewery’s blog post about the beer right here. And stay tuned to the Dogfish Head site for more info about their record-breaking beer.
