Did you know that every time you put a hot coffee mug or tray on your kitchen table, you’re letting precious energy go to waste? If not, don’t worry, because there’s really no way to prevent it, at least not until the IKEA Heat Harvest table becomes a reality.

The IKEA Heat Harvest is a design concept from IKEA‘s Space10 lab, and it works by using “heat harvesting pads” to convert the heat from objects put on the table into electricity that can be used to charge up devices. Besides that, it’s also a good incentive to eat more hot food, which is nice.
