‘Dominion Office Building’ in Moscow (Photos)

The goal of architecture in most cases is to provide a clear and aesthetically sound environment for whatever the space being designed is to be used for – very rarely do phrases like “mind-bending” or “overwhelming” enter into the discussion. But someone forgot to tell the people at  Zaha Hadid Architects that, as evidenced by their new Dominion Office Building in Moscow.

The Dominion Office Building is most notably marked by its series of interconnecting staircases linking its various levels. When combined with the distinctive patterns found on the floors, they form a psychedelic architectural landscape reminiscent of Jim Steranko or M.C. Escher.
