Save My Ink: Frame Your Tattoos for Posthumous Posterity
When it comes time to consider your own mortality in concrete, literal terms, it’s natural to think about your own legacy and what you leave behind for future generations. Thanks to a new (and apparently very real) service, that can now include your very own tattoos – it’s called Save My Ink.
Save My Ink arranges for a tattooed section of skin to be cut away from the dearly beloved and preserved in a chemical process that prevents decay. The skin and the attached tattoo are then framed and immortalized for all time, leaving future generations to look at it on the wall and say things like “ew” and “gross.”
The service is affiliated with NAPSA, the National Association for the Preservation of Skin Art, and you can get some more information on the official Save My Ink site right here. And if you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, remember that it might be around long after you die.
