‘Andy Warhol. Polaroids’: Book Features Snapshots by the Artist
There was no Instagram in Andy Warhol‘s day, although you don’t have to be a serious Warhol scholar to figure out he would have loved it. But there were Polaroid cameras, and Warhol predictably took a real shine to the instant photography technology, taking a wide variety of Polaroids from the time he first got one in the late 50s all the way up until his death in 1987. It’s these photos that make up Andy Warhol. Polaroids, a new book from Taschen and the Andy Warhol Foundation.
Andy Warhol had a ton of famous friends and acquaintances, so Andy Warhol. Polaroids is sure to be of value to anyone with an interest in 20th century pop culture, not just Warholics. Mick Jagger, Alfred Hitchcock, Jack Nicholson, Yves Saint Laurent, Pelé, and Debbie Harry are just a few of the celebrities featured in the book, as mentioned in the copy on Taschen’s website.
Andy Warhol. Polaroids has a $99 price tag at the Taschen online store here.
