Walter's Coffee Roastery

If you wanted to start a small business that would get people’s attention while also providing a consumer staple, you could do a lot worse than hitching your coffee shop wagon to Breaking Bad, the still-beloved AMC drama about Walter White’s exciting journey from dorky teacher to murderous drug lord. That’s what Deniz Kosan, founder of Walter’s Coffee Roastery in Istanbul, Turkey, has done.

Some of the touches found in Walter’s Coffee Roastery include yellow-jumpsuit-clad baristas, blue rock candy, a big periodic table of elements on the wall, and bean containers shaped like the tanks in Heisenberg’s famous meth lab. There don’t appear to be any plans to expand from Instanbul to, say, Albuquerque, but you never know.

Even if you’re not planning to be in Turkey anytime soon, if you’re a Breaking Bad fan you should definitely check out the Walter’s Coffee Roastery Instagram account here. And remember – go easy on the coffee, that stuff’s addictive.
