I don’t know what’s going on over at Wheaties HQ, but someone must have decided that the brand’s commitment to physical fitness and health was only taking them so far, because now we have the officially licensed HefeWheaties beer from the Fulton craft brewery in Minnesota.

HefeWheaties mercifully doesn’t have any actual Wheaties cereal in the beer, but it is packed with wheat, hence the thematic connection. As for what we’re all wondering anyway: I don’t have any idea how it would taste poured over a bowl of Wheaties, and unfortunately if you’re not in the Twin Cities area starting on August 26th you might have to go on a pilgrimage to find out.

In the meantime, you can get some more information on HefeWheaties from General Mills and Fulton at the former’s press release on the beer here. And to any young athletes out there, remember – don’t forget to drink your Wheaties.
