Icona Vulcano

It took a lot of ingredients to produce the Icona Vulcano. For one, it was designed in Shanghai but put together in Italy, and it’s the product of the combined efforts of people like Claudio Lombardi (former Ferrari technical director) and designer Samuel Chuffart. But most impressively of all, it took a lot of titanium to build.

That’s because the Icona Vulcano is the world’s first titanium vehicle, prepared as a one-shot model and soon to be on display at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It’s got some impressive specs in addition to its titanium body, though, like its 670 horsepower V8 engine – but it’s the craftsmanship here that really leaves a mark, reportedly the end product of a thousand hours of sculpting.

Since it’s a one-off, and an extremely difficult and time-consuming one-off at that, the odds of a Icona Vulcano production line are somewhere near the latter end of slim and none.

You can see a bit about the car in the video below, and for more on the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, just check out the event’s official site here.
