Sphericam 2

With the rise of virtual reality and other immersive forms of video, 360-degree video recording may soon be more than a gimmick and seen as an essential way to visually document the world around you. For when that change happens (or helping to facilitate it), there’s the Sphericam 2.

The Sphericam 2 is the size of a tennis ball, but within its small body it packs six 4K cameras that together capture all 360 degrees of reality as we know it. It’s built from sturdy aluminum to withstand pretty much anything, and it’s outfitted with eight separate mounting points – the end result being a camera that can go anywhere you can, and beyond.

When the images captured by each of the Sphericam 2’s six cameras are digitally blended together, you have 360 degrees of video for whatever you did (and whatever happened around you) while the camera was running. Pre-orders are being accepted now at the product’s Kickstarter page here, starting at $1300.
