‘Goosebumps': Trailer for Film Based on Book Series Released (Video)

There’s an entire generation of people walking around out there creating social media content and buying movie tickets who grew up reading Goosebumps, the horror anthology book series by author R.L. Stine. So it was inevitable that we’d eventually get a big screen version, and now a trailer for just such an entity has hit the internet.

Admittedly, my memory of Goosebumps is hazy because I haven’t read any since I was a kid, and even then I only read a handful. But I remember the books being pretty creepy if not outright terrifying, which makes the tone of this trailer a little puzzling. It seems more like an action-adventure comedy starring Jack Black than it resembles anything like the books (or the TV show) I remember.

Still, I’m sure that Goosebumps will make an enormous amount of money if even a slender sliver of the people who fondly remember the books buy a ticket. It’s opening around Halloween this year, and in the meantime you can check out the official Goosebumps site right here.
