Amazon.com Parties Like It’s 1999 for April Fool’s Day
Amazon Dash Button: Order Stuff by Pushing a Single Button (Video)
Today’s April Fool’s Day, and we already know that Amazon.com isn’t above getting in on the “saying stuff that is not actually true” fun. But more exciting is a new product announcement that is actually true – Amazon Dash Button, a small gadget that lets you make purchases for household items by (literally) touching a button.
Amazon Dash Buttons are programmable via smartphone to place an automatic order of the things you always want to have on hand – buy one for laundry detergent, for example, and place it in your laundry room. When you notice you’re running low, you just push the button, and a fresh shipment will be at your door before you run out.
It’s a pretty fantastic idea, and once you see the video below you’ll almost certainly start thinking of places in your home where an Amazon Dash Button could save you lots of time and energy (not to mention money). The new service is currently by invitation only, but Amazon Prime subscribers can join the waitlist to get a free button right here.
