You might remember FILFURY as the artist who converted Nike Air Max sneakers into guns for an art project. And he’s back again, but it’s not as specific as turning Air Max into guns – instead, he’s digitally manipulating sneakers of all kinds into many different shapes and forms.

FILFURY, whose real name is Phil Robson, was recently the subject of a profile on Quartz magazine that explained his process. The artist starts with the same sneakers that everyone has, but he gets inspiration from them in a pretty unique way. After that, he takes a digital photo of the sneakers and turns it into whatever he feels moved to – the Batman logo, say, or a human heart.

You can see some of FILFURY’s work with sneaker brands Nike, adidas, and more in the gallery below. And to read the profile of the artist in Quartz, head over to the magazine’s site right here.
