Salavat Fidai Makes Sculptures From Pencil Lead (Photos)
You might remember being a kid, sitting in a classroom and being very, very bored. You probably even played with a pencil or two in your time, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that you didn’t come close to artist Salavat Fidai in the “playing with pencils” arena.
That’s because Salavat Fidai’s specialty is tiny sculptures made (literally) on the ends of pencils. I don’t know what Fidai’s methodology is for creating these sculptures, but I do know they’re incredible to look at, all the more so due to their impossibly small size.
Salavat Fidai is not the first to make sculptures out of pencil lead, but judging by his work alone he is one of the masters of the form. You can do just that by looking at some of his pieces in the gallery below – and for more, head over to the artist’s official Instagram account here, where he’s posting these sculptures and other pieces all the time.
