Tommy Bates Puts ‘The Simpsons’ Characters in Streetwear Brands (Pics)
Streetwear brands continue to be a fount of inspiration for artists and illustrators everywhere. That includes Tommy Bates, who for his latest project has also been inspired by another perennial cultural heavyweight – The Simpsons. And the thing about cartoon characters is they’re almost always wearing the same clothes, so this is a pretty cool marriage of ideas.
Some of the characters seen rocking brands like Supreme, A Bathing Ape, and (of course) adidas Yeezy Boosts in Tommy Bates’ artistic imagination include Homer, Bart, Ned Flanders, Comic Book Guy, and more. And given the sheer breadth of Simpsons marketing tie-ins over the years, none of them seem particularly far-fetched. In fact, Bates might be lining himself up for a professional gig, especially if this project gets a lot of attention online.
You can check out some of Tommy Bates’ stylish reinterpretations of characters from The Simpsons in the gallery below. And for more from the artist, take a look at his official Instagram account right here.
