Attention parents: Your kids are going to want to use YouTube. You might as well fact the fact that your children are going to have access to a lot more video content than we ever did as kids, and now there’s an app specifically designed for young ones to get the most out of YouTube. It’s called, creatively enough, YouTube Kids.

YouTube Kids has a more kid-friendly user interface with large images and simple navigation, but the most attractive component from the parental point of view is probably the extensive parental control feature. As we all know, YouTube (and the internet in general) can be a scary, inappropriate place if you wander off-track, so it’s nice to have a way to make sure your kids will stick to the kid-appropriate YouTube videos he or she wants to watch.

You can take a look at the new YouTube Kids app, available for for free both Apple and Android phones and tablets, in the short introductory video below. You can get it on iTunes here, and the Google Play store here.
