Beam: The Portable Projector That Works With Any Light Socket
With more sources of video available to us now than in any other point in history, the time is ripe for a truly revolutionary video projector for watching movies or TV on something bigger than a computer screen. I’ll leave it to the experts to decide whether Beam is that projector, but from what I can see, it seems to come pretty darn close.
The coolest thing about Beam is that instead of requiring a specialized lighting setup to work, you can plug it into almost any light socket and use it as a bulb for your viewing projections. And it’s far from a simple analog projector, being programmable for sharing social media notifications or any number of “if this, then that” specifications that you can decide.
No matter what those experts might say, the market is clearly ready for something like Beam, since it’s more than doubled its fundraising goal on Kickstarter here, with almost a month left to go. For now, you can see a couple of photos of the projector in the gallery below.
