Nike MetCon 1 Training Sneaker Unveiled (Photos and Video)

With so much attention going to their remastered retro releases and their signature sneaker sequels, it’s extra-exciting when Nike produces a brand new model sneaker from the ground up – not a retread, and not a followup. That’s the case with the new Nike MetCon 1, the upcoming multipurpose training sneaker recently unveiled by the company.

The Nike MetCon 1 is meant to be a highly durable and versatile trainer, suitable for virtually any kind of exercise. That includes a firm heel specifically for weightlifting, and an outsole in ultra-adhesive rubber, with enough traction for climbing rope. And less esoteric forms of training are also suited for the sneaker.

Athlete Josh Bridges has given the Nike MetCon 1 his endorsement, and demonstrates a lot of what it can do in the video below. Underneath that, you can see a few photos of the sneaker, which hits select Nike Training stockists on January 31st. And for more on the sneaker and its upcoming release, head over to the official Nike site here.
