Windowless Planes Might Be Coming (Photos and Video)

You might remember back in February we told you about the S-512 supersonic jet, which counted among its features advanced high-definition displays in lieu of windows. And a new report from the Centre for Process Innovation says that windowless planes will be widely available in air travel in as little as ten years.

The report says that the current standard of small ovular windows that you can sometimes barely see out of will soon be replaced by giant curved OLED displays that will give passengers a clearer, sharper look at what’s actually going on outside the plane. My question is, do people actually want this technology? I don’t even like looking out the window when I fly, so this seems terrifying to me.

You can decide for yourself by checking out both the video below on “windowless planes” technology from the Centre for Process Innovation and a few concept photos in the gallery underneath that. And to read the report in full, you can see it at the CPI website here.
