Pizzabox: A Pizza Vending Machine In Development (Video)
If you’re a regular reader of this site and a fan of food, you probably remember Burritobox, the vending machine that can make you a hot, fresh burrito at the touch of a button. That project must have been met with some measure of success, because the makers of Burritobox at The Box Brands have taken the next logical step towards our glorious food future: Pizzabox.
Pizzabox will deliver users a fresh (as opposed to frozen) pizza that emerges from the machine piping hot a mere 90 seconds after the customer orders it. And Denis Koci of The Box Brands takes pride in the fact that you won’t be able to eat it right away, because it’ll be too hot:
“The experience can only be compared to a chef pulling a pizza out of the oven in the kitchen of a restaurant. It’s impossible to eat as the cheese is still very melty, the crust is browned and pizza in general is piping hot. You must let it cool for 5 to 10 minutes, which is perfect if you’re taking it on the go.”
Each pizza to come from Pizzabox’s 800-degree oven will be ten inches in size, and will come with a pizza enjoyment kit consisting of knife, fork, red pepper flakes, Parmesan, oregano, and a moist towelette. A most towelette! The Box Brands also plans to unveil a live video chat service for customer support on the machines, as well as in preexisting Burritoboxes.
The first Pizzabox machines will be seen early next year in southern California, but the company plans to put them in airports and college campuses all over the country. You can read an article about Pizzabox here, and check out a short introductory video on the Pizzabox below. Enjoy:
