Midnight Scoop: The Ice Cream Scoop Reinvented (Photos)
The ice cream scoop is one of those kitchen implements, like the pizza cutter or the spatula, that we put up with even though it’s annoying because we think that’s just the way it is. But luckily, enterprising inventor Michael Chou has realized it doesn’t have to be that way, and has come up with the Midnight Scoop, a new kind of ice cream scoop that he says makes scooping tough ice cream much easier.
The secret is in the Midnight Scoop’s handle, which is specially designed as an improvement over traditional ice cream scoops that have to be used with difficult and awkward wrist actions. The Midnight Scoop is different, driven by the stronger muscles in your arms, which, unless you’re a polio sufferer or something, should be able to make quick work of even the coldest ice creams.
You probably can’t fully understand the Midnight Scoop until you try it, which you can get a head start on doing by heading over to the product’s Kickstarter page here, where it’s priced at $35 a pop. But you can check out a few photos of the scoop in the gallery below, which at the very least will give you a nice ice cream craving. Enjoy:
