Arby’s Introduces The Meat Mountain
I don’t know what it’s like to make an advertising campaign for Arby’s, but if the fast food chain’s story about their new Meat Mountain sandwich is true, it must require a startling amount of naivete. The newly viral legend goes that Arby’s started using a poster depicting all of the many meats they offer in their stores, not suspecting that anyone would actually want to buy the sandwich.
Whether or not you can swallow a story like that (have any of the Arby’s corporate execs ever been to an Arby’s before? Their customer base is comprised of at least 80% dares), it is apparently true that you can walk into a participating Arby’s, plunk down ten bucks for a Meat Mountain, and enjoy a sandwich made up of the following (via The Washington Post):
2 chicken tenders
1.5 oz. of roast turkey
1.5 oz. of ham
1 slice of Swiss cheese
1.5 oz. of corned beef
1.5 oz. brisket
1.5 oz. of Angus steak
1 slice of cheddar cheese
1.5 oz. roast beef
3 half-strips of bacon
So far, no deaths resulting from consuming an Arby’s Meat Mountain have been reported. And, in the interest of full disclosure, you can read a skeptical report on how the Meat Mountain actually came to be here.
