Army Survival

The United States Army is now in the app development business, with the release of Army Survival, a mobile app for would-be adventurers all over the world (not just in the US, which I guess is a nice step towards global unity). Army Survival is an app based on the U.S. Army Field Manual 21-76, which is written to help recruits survive for extended periods in the wilderness.

U.S. Army Field Manual 21-76 is called “Survival,” and that’s what the Survival App seeks to inform users on, from a variety of different perspectives. Information on which berries are safe to eat is in the app, as well as information on “survival psychology” and various ways to stay sheltered, fed, and hydrated when there is no Starbucks in sight.

The Army Survival App costs a hefty $1.99, but you might wish you had pulled the trigger if you ever find yourself alone in the jungle with nothing but your iPhone and a portable charger. You can check it out at the iTunes Store here.
