Tag Heuer Meridiist Infinite Phone Never Needs Charging
Justlooking at it, the new Tag Heuer Meridiist Infinite phone actually doesn’t seem particularly impressive. Despite its prestigious brand name, it appears to be a garden-variety phone from a previous, pre-smartphone era, albeit a particularly handsome one. But Tag Heuer has something up its sleeve that makes this limited edition phone a really special item: Its battery can theoretically last forever without a charge.
This is made possible by an “invisible photovoltaic component” that is built into the Meridiist Infinite’s screen, and charges the phone under light, similar to the way that cheap solar-powered calculators have worked for the last few decades. But this is the first time it’s been used to keep a phone working, according to Tag Heuer.
The Tag Heuer Meridiist Infinite is only available in a limited edition of 1911 pieces, a figure that was arrived at to commemorate the first Tag Heuer “Time of Trip” dashboard chronograph back in 1911. More information on the phone can be found at Tag Heuer’s website here.
