Nomad CNC Mill by Carbide 3D
The people at Carbide 3D wanted to split the difference between a 3D printer‘s ease of use, and a CNC mill’s versatility and accuracy. So they whipped up the Nomad, which does all of the above.
And best of all, the Nomad is designed to fit comfortably on pretty much any desktop, counter top, or kitchen counter, so you can design the parts you need from your computer and have them right in your hand almost instantly. And unlike most 3D printers of a comparable size, the Nomad works with an array of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic.
Carbide 3D is currently raising funds for the Nomad on its Kickstarter page here, but since they’ve already raised well over ten times their fundraising goal, you’ll probably be seeing it on the market soon – but you still have two weeks (as of this writing) to get in on the ground floor.
